About Nia
Nia Lewis studied modern violin with Clare McFarlane at Chetham’s School of Music, and with Jonathan Sparey at the University of York, where she complete an MA and PhD in Historical Performance. She is a member of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and regularly performs and records with leading ensembles including The Sixteen, The King’s Consort, Early Opera Company and Classical Opera Company. Alongside her orchestral career, Nia is a passionate chamber musician and is dedicated to education. As well as teaching at Abingdon School and running a private teaching practice, she frequently lectures and directs projects at universities and conservatories, including the University of York and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Nia lives in Oxfordshire with her husband and their two daughters.
